150 km I 0:09:20 I 690 km I 1:14:28 I Itzehoe – Aabenraa, DK
Into Denmark
Today I left the plains and went up into the hilly grounds of Schleswig-Holstein. Cycling was fine. I passed Oeversee (oversea).
Again this leg offered some relaxing sections with only 709 meters attitude difference. Starting from sea level and ending there again. Today I noticed that the number of road kills has reduced drastically. During the three initial legs there were plenty of dead hedgehogs, bird carcasses and broken German banners alongside the roads. Today there were nearly none. Interesting but not empiric. Will continue to observe this phenomenon.
My bike is still good in shape and I am optimistic that this will stay the same during my trip. Today I saw my next dream machine, a dragon bike.
