Northbound

Today I crossed  the arctic circle. A small monument on a rock at the end of a fjord made this crossing a visible experience. Even the captain announced the crossing. Cycling did not change much but it got colder. The weather is colder and rain showers kept us busy changing our clothing. Nearly half of the cycling time it was drizzling, pouring or raining.

At the campsite we had just mounted our tents when the rain started again. After having showered the skies opened up and during our night meal with pasta, yoghurt and coffee it got brighter. It is still overcast but we are prepared for tomorrow.

My plans are to move on to the Lofoten Islands. But the next big destination is Bodø. I will be there tomorrow. One of the highlights will be the Saltstraumen. But more tomorrow.
